hand-knit socks
We've been doing a lot of laundry at our new house, since the washer and dryer are ours, and not coin-op!
Sometimes, things just shouldn't go in the dryer, though. Case in point, handknit socks.

What will we do when we move in and hang curtains???

hee hee. Sock curtains. When we purchased the house we live in now, I'd actually take dishes out just to use the dishwasher.

You'll have to buy a Socktopus (Jabba) from IKEA!!

We have a little clothesline in the basement, and I hang the socks on that. It's only about 6 feet long, so not much use for anything other than socks.
When we had radiators (non-enclosed), I used to put hand towels over the top and lay the socks on that. They dried FAST. ;-)

You need to get one of those little folding rotating lingerie hangers from the Regal catalogue. I have one and so does my Mom. We paid less than $20 each and I wouldn't trade mine for anything.
