crappers

Remember earlier this week when I had trouble sleeping? Yep, it's happening again. I slept until 11:0o this morning (I took a vacation day) and now I am WIDE awake. I finished watching Season 3 of The Closer but I'm bored with watching tv. I knit for a while, but I'm bored of knitting. The horror! I did homework earlier and I just can't bring myself to read any more about strategic budget planning this evening. So I screwed around online for a while. And I found this, which killed some time. And now I'm back to being bored. Crappers.

  • I used to have insomnia A LOT but now it's getting less frequent and one of the tools that's help me is progressive relaxation.

Hopefully this is just a fluke for you but maybe it's a byproduct of a busier stressier life with school.

  • You know those red button folks are laughing at us and all our clicks. (I feel so silly, maybe I should go back and finish Weffriddles.)

  • Following up on Julie's comment, I've been doing a similar technique since HS. I start with my toes and on each exhale, relax a bit more of my body (moving up inches at a time). I'm rarely awake to relax my knees.

  • Ha ha, big red button was fun until there were too many little buttons... I'm not that bored, really I have way too much to do to be bored or to even leave this comment!

  • Sounds like you need to have a novel on hand for nights like that!

  • Ugh! I'm SOOOOO sorry. I have insomnia frequently....there are tricks that help....email me I can give you a list:)

Also, you can buy Melatonin over the counter and it really helps you go to sleep, without the groggy feeling. Plus, if you can get a few good nights under your belt, it usually stops the insomnia cycle.

  • Oh, it's the big red button again! Yay!

    I am easily entertained.

  • Does the red button thing ever end? I tried.

  • It's just a good week for insomnia- it's 2:25 here in chicago and I'm surfing the web. I found you via cynical knitting gal's site, and I'm so. envious. I lived in Boston for five years and miss it terribly (in Chicago now). I loved the pics of your view from work (MIT cambridge?) and, you guessed it, it made me homesick too. I guess I should post on my own blog instead of rambling on yours... :)
