the end of an era
Have I mentioned before that I don't like change? Yeah, I really don't, especially when it's not in my control.
This afternoon, my long-time across-the-hall/over-the-cubicle-walls/lets-go-knit-at-lunchtime colleague moved out.
She's got some really great things happening, and exciting new opportunities ....

I'm happy that she has great things happening and exciting new opportunities, but I'm sad for you and your stapler.

I'm sad for you, but oh! so happy for her. I hate feeling two ways at once.
And poor stapler. Perhaps you could arrange a playdate?

I had a best friend at work once and she left for bigger things. I was happy for her but boy did I miss her everyday. I know how you feel, sweetie.

Sad, but yet... How long did it take the cube raiders to swoop in and scavenge? That's what happens here...
