purple alpaca scarf; yarn to give away

I finished the Friday Harbor socks -- I'll post a photo once they are blocked.

I also finished -- finally!!! -- the purple alpaca scarf that I started a long time ago. I bought the yarn at WEBS about two years ago, and started the scarf about a year ago, only to abandon it shortly thereafter. Here is a good view of the lace pattern ...

And one that shows the color nicely...

This will be a gift to a college student I know. Nice and warm for walks across campus in the winter!

There was also some yarn acquisition this weekend. I will save that for another post. But, in finding a spot for it in my yarn storage bins, I decided to make some room by cleaning out some yarn that I most likely will not use.
This is 6 skeins of Bernat Cotton Tots. There are three skeins of a variegated pink, one skein of solid pink, and one skein of solid white. There is also a second skein of white, which is partially used, although I never cut the abandoned project from the skein or frogged it.

If you want this, just send me an email to aswiminknits AT yahoo DOT com. The yarn is free, but I will ask that the recipient sends me $5 for shipping. (It's getting expensive to keep mailing things out!)

  • your scarf is so gorgeous!

i have to say, it was hard to resist emailing you about the yarn, the call of yarn (escecially FREE yarn) is very difficult to ignore, but i am going to stay strong! my stash is large enough!

  • Love the scarf. Is the lace pattern your own composition?
