wooly legs
Remember this WIP photo from Saturday?
It's sock yarn, but it's not socks. This is the finished product:
Still not sure what they are (turkey drumstick cozies??)? Let me call upon the able assistance of the Wooly Babe to model for you:
As you might know, the Wooly Babe will be wearing this harness for 6+ weeks to treat developmental dysplasia of the hip. Unfortunately, the harness makes her wardrobe choices somewhat limited, as she can't wear those cute little footie baby one-piece outfits. Or pants. So, she needs something to keep her both warm and fashionable.
Pattern: Wooly Legs (Ruth's improvised pattern ... scroll to the bottom)
Yarn: Mama-E C*EYE*BER Fiber Signature Sock Yarn in "Jolene"
Needles: Addi Turbo and Knitpicks DPNs, size 1.5
Gauge: close to 9 sts/in
Wooly Babe, hope you are warm and toasty!

Those are so cute - everyone's going to want them for their babies. =) Baby legwarmers. Just add an off the shoulder cutoff t-shirt and short shorts.....

This is one of the best uses of knitting ever. You generate so much good karma.

That's so great! I am an adult who had hip dysplasia as a mere babe and would have loved donning those gorgeous hand-knits!

What a great thing for you to do with that beautiful sock yarn! Wooly Babe will have the most fashionable legs in town!

That's so sweet! I'm going to put my mom hat on here and say (or shout) that it is so nice to have multiples of things that a baby wears regularly because sometimes they need multiple outfit changes in a very short period of time. I don't mind doing laundry, but washing and drying something in a mad rush so you can put it right back on the baby stinks, and you've saved Ruth some of that hassle. Bravo!

how sweet! she'll look dashing in her new woolly leggings :)

You completely fooled me. I thought for sure that was going to be a sock! ;-)
